CASE STUDY: Minyard Instant Win & Web Sweeps

Minyard, a 72-store Texas grocery chain, used an instant win game promotion with a web page sweepstakes to drive traffic & sales for a 5-week promotion's event.

Customers "matched 3 to win" instantly for up to $25,000 in cash. Tapping the power of its vendor base to drive in-store sales: Every game ticket contained a FREE store product or a savings offer on next purchase. Vendors benefited with incremental promotion sales and store displays.

Customers entered a weekly sweepstakes promotion at the web site for a chance at a $500 store gift card each week. Posting winners' names kept excitement & momentum high. Minyard has used game promotions on a recurring basis in its marketing mix.

Our role: Colortone Graphics developed the game promotion & website, provided security printing of game cards, prize structure planning, Official Rules of Play, store distribution and game promotion activity reporting.

CASE STUDY: Guitar Center Employee Game

Guitar Center Promotion Game
Guitar Center, a national music instrument retailer, used a sales associate game promotion to increase sales of product warranties.

With a 25-35 male sales staff, the promotion game was designed to look, feel and play like Poker. For each "PG" sold, an associate received a playing card. Some promotion game cards revealed instant cash prizes, the remaining promotion game cards were regular playing card faces.

Associates "held" their cards and submitted their best 5-card Poker Hand. Competition at store level was encouraged with back room tracking posters and an internal website where stores posted their "best hand". Finalists & their manager played for the top prize of $5,000 and a new Scion!

CASE STUDY: Clorox Sales Incentive Promotion Game

Clorox Sales Incentive Promotion Game
Geared as an "added layer" to the established compensation program for its distributor network, Slam Dunk promotional game bonus cards were available to DSR's who qualified by reaching targeted volume levels for a given quarter.

Encouraging the trade to "Score More in 2004", every promotion card had a bonus cash amount from $10, $50, $100, $1,000, to $5,000.

This incentive promotion game gave Clorox a means to quickly react to changing market conditions and the need to fuel the sales of specific products within its overall line.

The game promotion was developed, executed, delivered and implemented in less than 4 weeks.

CASE STUDY: KGBT -TV

KGBT Promotion Game
This CBS affiliate leveraged its 50th Anniversary and its relationships with 10 of its major advertisers for this fall promotions event.

On-air advertising drove customers to six retail partners for promotion game cards: Carl's, Jr., Peter Piper Pizza, Blockbuster, Popeye's, Buffalo Wild Wings & Joe's Master Service. High value traffic-building offers on every promotion game card stimulated further traffic and sales on the "next visit".

Weekly promotion sweepstakes with on-air winner announcements built continuity & viewer-ship for KGBT and awareness for the four sponsors who provided over $50,000 in promotion prizes. Advertisers benefited from an expanded media buy during the promotion period as well as retail POP.

CASE STUDY: Clayton Home Builders Consumer Promotion Game

Promotion Game Planning for Clayton
Clayton, a national homebuilder with 300 sales offices/preview centers in 35 states, used a game promotion as a "closing tool" for its sales staff.

Every customer who completed a brief financial qualification form, received a promotion game card, The card offered the potential buyer an amount to be deducted from the price of their home, if closed before November 30. Discounts amounts ranged from $250 to $10,000.

A sales staff incentive further stimulated promotion activity, with an award of a $250 Gift Retail Card for every home closed during the target period.

The promotion game was supported with radio, outdoor and extensive signage at preview centers.

Regional chain of tire & repair centers leveraged its race team sponsorship with an instant win promotion game. Taking advantage of a popular race venue, Mountain View staff distributed promotion game cards to attendees at a 4-day race event.

Top-level promotion prizes were FREE sets of Goodyear tires.and every rub-off promotion game card gave the consumer a FREE service or significant service or tire discount at any one of the service centers.

Oversized game cards were used to list the redemption period, location, address and phone number for all locations on the back
